just 2.5 weeks

Wow, it’s been 2.5 weeks since the last post and it seems like it was ages ago. We’ve dived back into life here–two weddings, tennis camp, garden club, visits from family. Last I checked we had just enough time to breathe, I guess that’ll have to do. You can be glad that I posted a picture of Japanese cukes from the garden. Glad because I could have posted a picture of the 2 inch long beetle I had the misfortune of stepping on barefoot. Or the dead mouse that the kids found among the weeds on the front path. Or the 5 inch long slug slinking around behind the garbage can in the garage.

Perhaps it would be more meaningful to share that we’ve reflected a bit on our time in Sweden. The five of us feel the tug to return. The kids enjoyed their time there and want to go again next summer. God expanded their view of the world and people’s needs. The trip gave E some direction as to what he wants to accomplish during his sabbatical that would both benefit the Scandinavian churches and BCEC. I was grateful to witness a bit of what God is doing out there and was blessed to be on the front lines of ministry. Lord willing, we are very much looking forward to another trip to Sweden.

Thinking about missions and the work of God around the world is exciting. But for now, we turn our attention to the things that have been set before us: life at home–cleaning, paperwork, bills, ministry, preparing for another school year, growing and learning. It’s a little mundane after international travel but it’s the crucible where God is working on us so that we may hope be a blessing to others.
