semi-organized chaos

Around me on my desk, beside me on the floor, on the kitchen island, in the kitchen sink and on the stove resides a tremendous mess. Most of the items cluttering the space around me are everyday messes. These messes usually don’t linger. But we are counting down the last week until we leave for Sweden and life is not quite normal at the moment. I also have surrounding me the materials that I’m using to prepare my 5-day missions curriculum for my kids.

Praise God, e and I are both making headway on our respective preparations. He is chipping away at his training materials and planning his sermons. I’m two lessons away from completing my curriculum but I still need to gather supplies. Continued prayer for this preparation would be appreciated. Prayer for working out what we need to pack and the logistics of travel would be wonderful as well.

The kids are looking forward to our Sweden trip. We’ve tried to help them understand that it’s not a vacation and we think they get it. Little k (who grew two inches in two weeks) is very excited about the candy there. Last year, e brought back Swedish candy so I suppose that is little k’s only association with Sweden. I hope he’ll think of more than candy when we talk about Sweden in a month.
