it’s got charm

That’s probably the real estate equivalent of “he’s got a nice personality.” Right now our home is pretty charming. If you can recall any of the details of our home repair story, you might remember that after a roof leak we discovered a moldy ceiling. We then found out that it was more like “decades of mold” in the ceiling and walls. Nearly two weeks ago, a rotting supporting post and some rotted wall boards came to our attention. Probably the repair after that would be getting our gutters in good working order. I’m my own general contractor, except that I don’t know how to do anything except look up businesses on Angie’s List. Despite the headache, we’re still very grateful for the house and these repairs really don’t effect our daily life too much. We do hope to get it all fixed soon so that we can use it for ministry and hospitality (and to get that sofa out the hallway!).

Other family news is that I’m mentally gearing up for summer. I’m trying to figure out how to plan our days–not to just fill them up but to make them relaxed with a less structured schedule but still productive. It probably doesn’t sound like much but the words “summer vacation” can strike fear in the hearts of moms with school age children.

Right now ministry has been challenging for e. There’s so much to be done and not enough time to do it all. Or rather not enough time to do it all and still see family and get adequate sleep. He still makes time for the kids and I. You can guess what is suffering. We’d appreciate prayer for the energy to do what’s required, the faith to let some things go and the wisdom to know the difference.
