lower case

With five members of the family, it’s more of a challenge to write a brief update. Today is little k’s 13 month birthday so this one’s dedicated to him.

Being the youngest child gives little k the opportunity to hit highlights (or lowlights) his brothers have not experienced. (1) Playing in the toilet–not just with his hands but with a small basin used to scoop water out of the toilet. (2) Eating granola bar crumbs–not given to him by anyone but shaken out of the wrapper for himself. The wrapper that little k retrieved from the trash can after longingly watching O eat the granola bar.

Other than that, little k is a very active kid. He’s in a pre-walking stage and doesn’t sit still unless he’s asleep or buckled in somewhere. Most notably, he’s making lots of noises. It seems that these sounds are words to him and he’s expecting us to understand.

Currently, he’s under my desk getting into anything he can reach: wires, trash, crumbs from a previous meal, white out. I guess it’s time to sign off.

Jess, that’s a good question. I must have some undefined criteria that he must hit before he gets his own flickr set. Evidence of this guy’s antics are going to be harder to capture with a camera.

Maybe he needs more food… 😉

Sam, yes that was not a “world’s best mom” moment. I feed that ravenous creature, really I do.

That particular granola bar had nuts in it and he wasn’t supposed to eat it. I guess he found a work-around and thankfully didn’t have an allergic reaction.

sounds like Isaiah at that age…maybe even nowadays! good thing he doesn’t play with the toilet any more. He still has problems sitting still at times.

Yvonne, the funny thing is that I think Isaiah was probably still more active! Little k does have his “stay put” (as opposed to “stay still”) moments but they don’t last too long.
