In a previous post, it was mentioned that we were cleaning out some little ears. Well, after a visit to the pediatrician we have news to share: the earwax-affecting gene has been isolated. This may be old news to you but the article has a couple gems (shall we call them nuggets?). First of all, east Asians have the dry earwax gene. Secondly, it is thought to be correlated to the sweat/odor gland issue. We’re not endorsing the evolutionary theory it assumes but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Oh… I thought you had said something inappropriate for little ears to hear and so had to wash them, like how moms used to wash their boys’ mouths out with soap, but in reverse… I don’t know how that makes sense, but it did when I first read that last post.
