his & her blogs

This post is merely a question. I’ve noticed something and wonder why it is. Not anything terribly important but I’m just curious.

Why is it that when a couple (generally married) has a blog together, the female usually does most of the writing? Was it just that the guy didn’t blog before couplehood? Is it a matter of efficiency? (She says it all, he’s got nothing to add.) Is it that the female is more communicative? (Probably not the case in our situation.) I don’t know but perhaps you do.

Good question… maybe because men inherently value relationships/communicating less than women do on a sub-conscious level? We tend to be more task oriented… generalizing, of course.

Matt says he doesn’t have anything to write about unless it’s about Starcraft or Physical Therapy. Plus, he said that since I practically rewrote most of his grammatically incorrect essays in college when he asked for simple revisions, I should do all of the writing. That’s what he said.

But yes, I always wonder the same thing.

I have invited DJ to be a contributor to my blog, and I even offered to change the name to make it more inclusive, but he’s refused time and time again. And yet, when something big comes up, he’ll tell me to blog about it. It’s like he won’t cook, but when he’s hungry, he asks me what there is to eat.
